When is the best time to see the northern lights in Norway?

The northern lights are visible in northern Norway from roughly late September to late March, when the nights are dark enough to see them. The most reliable window is November to February, when darkness is deepest.

You need dark, clear skies — and time. That's why our Arctic Lights journey builds in an unlimited private aurora chase across several nights above the Arctic Circle, rather than betting everything on a single outing.

How many days do you need to see the Norwegian fjords?

To see the major fjords properly — Lysefjord, Sognefjord, Nærøyfjord and Geirangerfjord — without rushing, plan on ten to twelve days.

That allows two nights in each key base, time for the Flåm railway and the scenic mountain passes, and free days instead of a constant transfer schedule. Our summer journey, The Norwegian Landscape, is eleven nights for exactly this reason.

Are the northern lights guaranteed?

No — the aurora is a natural phenomenon, and no honest operator can guarantee it.

What we do is maximise your chances: an unlimited-duration private chase with a photographer, wake-up alerts sent only when the sky is genuinely active, and an Aurora Promise — if the lights haven't appeared by day five, we add a complimentary extended chase on your final night.

How much does a luxury private tour of Norway cost?

A private, fully arranged luxury journey through Norway typically starts around THB 198,000 (roughly USD 5,500) per person when four travel together, rising with smaller parties and higher hotel categories.

Our summer fjord journey starts from THB 198,000 per person and our winter northern lights journey from THB 315,000 per person. Prices are indicative and confirmed on enquiry; they include hotels, private transport, booked experiences and arranged meals, and exclude international flights.

Is Norway better in summer or winter?

They're almost different countries. Summer (May–October) gives long daylight, green fjords, open mountain roads and the design hotels at their best — ideal for landscape, architecture and food. Winter (November–March) gives the northern lights, snow, husky and snowmobile country, and a quieter, more dramatic north.

If you want the aurora, you must travel in winter. We run one journey for each season, so neither is a compromise.

What's included in a Team Oslo journey?

Each journey includes the hotels, private transport (a chauffeur-guide, or a premium self-drive electric car in summer), the booked experiences on your itinerary, and the meals we've arranged.

International flights to and from Norway are excluded but can be arranged on request. Every journey is private to your party alone — no coaches, no shared departures.

Can you travel Norway privately rather than in a group?

Yes — that's all we do. Every Team Oslo journey is private to your own party, with your own car, your own guide and your own pace. There are no fixed group departures.

This is what separates a designed private journey from a coach tour running the same fjord corridor.

Do you work with travel agencies?

Yes. We release both journeys to a small circle of luxury travel agencies on a white-label basis — the itinerary carries your agency's name, commission is built into the price, and we hold the suppliers and manage every booking.

What languages does Team Oslo work in?

We correspond in English, Thai and Chinese, and reply within 72 hours. On the ground in Norway we can arrange authorised guides in around twenty languages, including Mandarin and Japanese, through established Norwegian guide services.

How far in advance should I book?

For the best hotels and the hard-to-book experiences, six to nine months ahead is ideal, and the winter aurora season and the summer peak (June–August) book earliest.

Because much of what we include is trade-locked or released months in advance, earlier enquiries give the widest choice. We can sometimes arrange shorter-notice journeys, subject to availability.

Do you arrange international flights?

Flights to and from Norway aren't included in the journey price, but we're glad to arrange them on request. Most guests fly into Oslo, Bergen or Tromsø depending on the season, and we build the internal Norwegian travel around your arrival.

Self-drive or chauffeured — which is better in Norway?

In summer, both work: a premium self-drive electric car gives you the fjord roads at your own pace, while a private chauffeur-guide means you never touch a map.

In winter, the Arctic is never self-drive — snow, ice and short daylight make a private chauffeur essential, so our winter journey is chauffeured throughout.
